About this episode

In this episode, I share a recent trip that affected me deeply: traveling alone to Kanazawa, Japan, for an eight-day, seven-night Urban Retreat digital nomad program.

I've always longed for a free, easy way of living. I thought being a digital nomad meant working while traveling, but this experience completely overturned what I imagined!

I'll tell you about the three realizations I had on a trip with no itinerary and no tickets booked, how I fell in love with co-living, and why I recommend "travel without shopping."

What you'll get from this episode: My three realizations: the point of being a digital nomad isn't work; it's having the right to choose and flexibility in how you live. How I chose to focus on the moment, put work down and enjoy the trip. I fell in love with co-living! Why the co-living hotel (LINNAS Kanazawa) felt warmer than home, and my happy memories of cooking hot pot and dinners with the group. Minimalist travel: even in Japan, I bought only some MUJI travel bottles. How I managed to "travel without shopping" and make the trip light and clear. A slow city I recommend: why I strongly suggest visiting Kanazawa, with its slow pace, rich cultural heritage and few tourists. The pros and cons of the program: the welcome party, yoga and meditation, tea ceremony, art reflection and more, plus the pros and cons I noticed (such as the language barrier and the high chance of rain).

Who is this episode for? You're looking for a change or something new in your life. You dream of being a digital nomad or are curious about co-living hotels. You want to learn about slow living and minimalism.

Coming next: I'll share the group members I met in Kanazawa, how they live as digital nomads, and the abilities and traits I saw they all have in common!
